HID Lens covers

I have an '04 s80 T6 with Xenon headlights...Lucky me, the wife, or the kids, neither is coming clean ....cracked one of the lenses. I have been quotesd$300-$900 for the assembly - they say the lenses can't be replaced. There has got to be a cheaper way. Has anybody done this, I am half tempted to replace both of them with halogen, especially when I hear just the bulbs are $100 each to replace!
