Is there an easy fix for the separating interior door "leather" on v.s 70 of the 1999-2000 vintage?

Other than paying $$$ for new panels I have heard that there is a way of slicing the panel glue down what is there and with a liquid that hardens and looks similar to the original

I suspected there might be a way to puncture the bubbles and inject glue, but don't know what is behind the material or what glue to use. Also wonder what causes this- I have 98 V70 with 145,000 and no bubbles, but several of the newer ones I have looked to buy have as many as all four doors pretty much a mess.

The backing of the vinyl is foam glued to plastic.
