how to replace halogen headlights?

Post by carboncow »

I'm a V70 & XC70 owner by my sister (2007 XC90) called and has a headlight out. She was quoted $49 for the bulb and $30 to install it and I know it's not a Xenon but a Halogen. Those prices were not a dealer but just tire place!

Since I don't have the car in front of me can anyone confirm a couple things.

Are the low beam halogens a H11 as I've seen listed on several sites for $10?
Is it an easy bulb to get to from just unscrewing the cover and contorting a hand into the area..or does the entire headlight assembly or something have to come out of the way?

Or better yet does anyone have a link to an XC90 manual, I'm sure it's in there.

thanks.
