The light has come on in the dash. I have 20w-50 synthetic and a fresh filter. No oil leaks, no over heating, dipstick shows full.
Due to alternator problem, I thought the lovely Mrs. hunterson was reporting an low charge warning light. I just checked it out and it is oil light. It has run for awhile with this, so I am either on edge of disaster or it could be something small like an old sensor.
Any advice on this will be most gratefully appreciated.

I would suspect the oil pressure sender. Our sponsor, IPD, has them for the vast sum of $2.69. If that does not cure the problem then you are looking at a possible wiring fault (short to earth) between the sender and the light.
