Hi, I have the infamous problem with the ETM on a 2000 S80.

I have located a secondhand replacement part 8644347 yellow sticker, but have been told by two seperate sources, that if I try and fit a used ETM to my car a) it won't work and b) it won't accept the software to make it work.

I am confused. Why are there so many used ETM's for sale if they simply will not work on another car?

Is the above true or am I been spun a yarn, by the blood sucking dealers?

If it were a North American market car I would say a) it might depending on the software version in it, and b) it will most definitely accept software. BUT there are different security registrations of different parts depending on the local laws. UK may require anti-theft coding of more and different parts that US and Canada and do not require.
