S40 puffs white/gray smoke
My 2002 s40, 160K miles recently began puffing smoke while driving at speeds of about 60mph. It seems to be related to the turbo kicking in. It never does it at idle or when reving the engine. Any ideas?

Check the turbo shaft for play - you can remove the intake side pipe from the airbox down to the turbo and try to wiggle the fins back and forth. There should be NO side to side play, but some up and down movement is acceptable.
