88 240 wagon randomly stalls
i have a 240 wagon with 5 spd manual trans and occasionally the car will just DIE, sometimes it fires right back up with a simple pop of the clutch other times i have to pull off. There is a connection on the side of my distributor, which through some research i have found to be the connection for the "impulse sensor". If i wiggle the connection a few times she will usually fire right up. She has never left me stranded and im GOING to fix her... just would like to know if you guys think its the whole "impulse sensor" or a bad connection, bad wiring, or a bad hall sensor... please let me know

Hall sensors do fail over time. If it has served over 80K miles and is suspicious i would replace it.
Have you tried a resistance measurement across the sensor while moving the wires?
Have you confirmed that the lack of spark is why she is not continuing to run or fails to restart?

no i have not measured resistance, but yes, i have in fact found i have no spark, not even coming from the coil itself when she fails

Great !!!
Let us know how the resistance check went.
If you have measured voltage at the coil (12v side ) but no trigger signal then the hall sensor or wires to it are suspect.

yes i have measured the voltage at the coil on the 12v side and am getting proper current, and it seems to get worse over time, at first i could disconnect and reconnect the wire clip several times and it would fix it, now i have to actually grab hold of the whole unit (distributor housing clip) and wiggle it for it to jump back to life
