Cutch Master Cylinder Help!!!!!!!

Post by Mister 93 850 »

My clutch pedal goes to the floor and stays there. The dealership says the clutch master cylinder is letting fluid get by. The new part cost over 5 hundred and over 4 to put it in (930 installed). Because of my vin number they said i had to get the expensive one, I saw cheeper ones the net, (not for my car tho)
Has anyone replaced their clutchmaster cylinder? If so is this something the weekend mechanic can do? Any tips?

thanks,

Clutch master is $110 at FCP: http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo850clutch.htm.
I haven't yet tackled the job, but the instructions in the haynes manual are pretty straight forward. It is a little hard to see it in the firewall, but once the air box is out, there should be plenty of room.
