850 T5 Engine ECU

Guys,

I'm looking to get a spare ECU for my 1996 850 T5 Auto to modify (so I have the original to revert back to if I stuff everything up)

The code on the ECU is " A.2 "

Can I use any ?.2 ECU (as I assume A = Australia)? - or does A = Automatic?

Or, what are the criteria I need to match the ECU - I'm changing the chip anyway.

You may get the info you need here but if not try the Performance forum at Volvospeed.com, members there are messing with the ECU all the time.
