broken hood release cable

broken hood release cable

How do I open the hood.? Cable is not functioning between the drivers and passengers side.
How do I release same so I can open the hood? :( :(

I had a broken release handle and used a metal ruler (after popping it up from inside) to push on the actual metal clip that holds the hood down. I only had to push on the drivers side though. You will need a flashlight to see in the gap and be careful not to scratch the paint above the headlights.

Can you take a picture of what you "actual metal clip that holds the hood down. The safety release doesnt release on my 2003 xc90
