I just purchased a 1999 S80 T6 and the check engine light came on . So i scanned the car with my OBDII and it came up with a P0036 and a P0452 codes. I called thw local dealership and he stated he could not cross referance the code to the ECM codes that the volvos scanners would scan instead of the P codes. Can anybody out there tell me what the P0452 code cross code referances to . I did find the cross referance for the P0036 . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the input. I stopped at a local shop that specializes in European vehicles. He hooked his analyzer up to the car directly to his PC to VOLVO. It came up with a bad rear Co2 sensor and also a bad gas tank sensor. Is there a way to pull the back seat and see if there are inspection holes to get at that sensor on the top of the gas tank without pulling the tank guys? any help would be greatly appreciated.

See this subject about fuel pump removal which refers to how to remove the rear see to access the top of the fuel tank.
https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... al#p108127
Are you sure the sensor to which the code refers is located in the tank?

The codes I put in the earlier post are not related to the code that was sent to the machanics PC from Volvo. He also stated he was getting a gas tank high pressure code that would not clear. so that was what I was asking about access to the top of the fuel tank for. Thanks for being so helpful. I wonder if any auto parts place out there makes a generic CO2 sensor those suckers cost $230 with my discount for the volvo one?

Here are the .pdf files which show the parts drawing and corresponding parts list re: the fuel system
Looks look item 25 is the part you are looking to replace.
Lets us know how you make out...

Thanks a bunch. I did find a CO2 sensor at rockauto.com for $80 . That's a ton cheaper than $230. My friend bought his fuel pump through them for half the cost of other auto parts places. The fuel tank sensor now that's another issue. I think that's why every once in a while I get a message that says. Fuel cap not tight. But when the mechanic ranthe code history from his PC it said feul tank over pressure.I looked at item 25 on the PDF you posted not sure about it being the right part. I can say thanks enough about the help you given me so far though. I really appreciate it. The car is really a nice ride. I like it a lot . Very comforable to drive. I really don't care personally if the service engine light is on. But the wife worries about it so I figure I better try and get the light to stay off. I keep resetting the code with my OBDII I have.
