B5244S engine swap 2000 S70 2.4l

Post by NC-MULE »

So my sister learned the hard way about timing belts...ie it broke and the motor is shot.
She's in college and wanted to borrow money for a new car but I'm anti car payment so I said I would put an engine in for free. I purchased a nice used engine with 60K miles for 850 bucks. Passed the leak down with flying colors.
I need a manual but the Haynes stops at 1999. She has a 2000 S70 2.4l 20 valve, FWD non turbo. In my research it seems that the 850, S70 and V70 share 99% of the same parts so I feel like the 1999 Haynes manual will be what I need....but I'd like to have a second opinion.
In addition to the engine swap (I bought the exact same engine B5244S) information I will also need directions on changing the timing belt, water pump and oil pan.

So in short, will the 99 Haynes manual give me the info I need?

Thanks pb

Looking up something else and came across this old post. Yes, swap was a success. Took about 40 hours of labor but the car has been running fine the past year. The 99 manual gave me what I needed.
