exhaust and performance problems?about codes and parts

Post by kessler23 »

Can you help me out, I have a 99 v70xc with three trouble codes
p0134(o2 sensor circuit no activity detected ,bank1 sensor 1). which sensor is that before or after converter.

p0171system too lean (bank1)

p1171 manufacturer specific powertrain trouble code

and a pending code
p1174 manufacturer specific powertrain trouble code

The problem I am having is lack of performance, bad smell, blueish smoke and rough idle at times. I can get O2 sensors of OEM for $194 front and $125 rear. I plan to replace Bank 1 sensor 1 if I can find out which one it is.

Also i think there is a catalylic converter problem. Is there a good alternative to OEM converter with pipe at $1090?
Will an after market converter work with the computer, back-pressure, etc.

please post if more info needed

thank you,

Kessler

The front one needs to be replaced. I really don't think there is a problem with the cat converter b/c neither of the two codes associated with it (rear o2 or cc efficiency) are present. I'd throw in the front o2 sensor, clear your codes and that should take care of the problem.
