cant find oil leak!!!

I have had an oil leak forever that i cant find, But it only leaks SOMETIMES. which is really strange. I can go for weeks without it leaking, then sometimes it will just start leaking. it always leaks, if i top the oil off. so i try to just keep it in medium range on the dipstick to keep it from leaking. I have looked down into the engine and i cant see anything. under the car the oil is on the transmission and the oil pan area. maybe the oil pan? any ideas why it only leaks sometimes?

could be the PCV in need of a change, Most of this is under the inlet manifold not hard to change but one of the critical bits that needs regular upkeep. Drain plugs do fail after a while too as does the oil filler cap seal might be good to replace them all at once or get your mechanic to do it for you
