Hi folks,
I'm selling my 1999 S70 AWD with 99800 miles in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Beautiful car, zero rust. The check engine light is on, but I took it to a credible shop a few weeks ago and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'm asking $5500. Please PM me if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Looks nice and GL with your sale but your shop is NOT credible.
You plug in the code reader and out comes the code, then you proceed to fix it.
If they can't find it, they have no right to work on a Volvo much less anyone's car

Right then, I took it to a shop in the Minneapolis area that wasn't Borton Volvo, but also wasn't a back alley operation.

I'm just quoting you
If a shop tells you they can't find a problem when it has a check engine code, wouldn't you think something's a bit amiss there?!
Regardless you need to get it fixed.
No one will give you close to top dollar for a car with a check engine light on.
Most states requires emissions for one thing and sometimes these can be expensive to fix!
As was said in many posts, you can go to an Autozone and get the code read for free, at least you know what area the issue is in.
Your car looks decent, do yourself a favor and fix it for any prospective buyer and get close to what you want for it.

At least in Minnesota there are no longer emissions tests so the Check Engine Light may not be the factor that it would be in California. The car is gorgeous, and low miles, and red to boot! I won't be showing this ad to my wife any time soon!
