In case you're in the market for a low-cost radar detector, when I went to my Amazon.com shopping cart today I got this message:

"Please note that the price of Whistler XTR-140 Laser/Radar Detector with Exclusive Twin Alert Periscopes has decreased from $68.89 to $42.88".

Link's embedded ;-). You just have to click the image.

I remember when Escorts and Passports hit the market in the early/mid 1980s... they were several hundred dollars. And those were 1980s dollars! This $43 detector probably runs circles around those old timers.

I'm not super familiar with radars, but as I have heard, the more you pay the better you get, and unless they have their radars always on (which they usually do) you wont pick up anything.

This detector may be like the one Kramer traded to Newman on Seinfeld.

There are several different radar and laser bands used, unlike the old days. Can this pick up more than one band?
