My new years resolution for this year coming is to finish assembling all my mecano sets...
My 740 GLE wagon prematurely chewed out the timing belt recently, warning to all B234F owners don't buy NOS timing belts! The Weekend Warrior Wagon is only driven on weekends and the belt had less than 10,000km on it. Just as well I had a spare head ready to go...
I've decided that the B234F is going to come out (eventually) to be replaced with something that's less of a hand grenade.
As luck would have it I have acquired a 83 760 Turbo(B23ET) with M46 manual. This exists as a front cut so I have absolutely everything that I need to do a direct swap into the wagon. However I'm not keen on going from LH2.4 back to LH2.1 injection setup. There is also issues with "pollution control" which have to be retained at the current '89 build level.
I don't want to swap motors and transmissions in one hit, but put the transmission in first and get that sorted out. I've tipped some dollars into getting back on the road but feel that it would be nice to run it with a manual behind it than the slushbox.
So here are my issues,
1/ Will the Flywheel from the B23ET bolt up to the B234F? Yes I'll have to fit a pilot bearing in the crank of the B234F, but will the flywheel have the right "balance"? The motors both have ring gear timing sensors just hoping they're in the right place.
2/ Which of the LH2.3/2.4 turbo ECU's would be the best to use? I don't have an EGR on either the B23ET or B234F (like to keep it that way).
3/ I need to update the inlet manifold on the B23ET (with '405 head) motor to one that utilises a compatible Idle controller( for the LH2.3/2.4). Is there any B230 manifolds that are better than others for the purpose? Bear in mind B230 Turbos are thin on the ground here in Oz.
Any guidance will be gratefully accepted.

TORQUE is how far the wall moves after you hit it.
