Side View Mirror Loose

My driver's side mirror is loose and wobbling in the wind as we drive. There has been no damage to the mirror and it still retracts when we toggle the switch. I went to the dealership and it appears their answer is to replace the entire mirror assembly and of course the car is out of warranty. Any idea on how to disassemble the mirror to tighten it?

Same problem here (tho' mine is a '96 850 GLT).

I took off all of the trim and found that the hinge (a thick spring) had worn enough of the plastic at its base to make it wobble.

So, I'll be looking for a nice used one to replace it with.
