New to the forum, hello to all of you and thank you for reading this post.
My girlfriend has a 2001 Volvo S80 T6 as her second car. I recently moved out to AZ to be with her, and noticed that the CEL was illuminated. I do not know how long the car has been showing those codes, I'd guess quite a while. She only uses the car for very short trips to the park, otherwise she takes her normal vehicle.
She didn't ask for my help until the car started bucking under normal driving the 1 or 2 miles to the park. I did a code scan and found codes P0236 and P0237. I'm familiar with boosted Subaru's, but Volvo's are new to me. I did some quick searching and decided to replace the boost control solonoid. I also replaced a good deal of vacuum tubing, as it was all dry rotted from the climate in Arizona.
This made the car run somewhat better but did not clear the codes. I did a couple wide open throttle runs and it threw a misfire code. I ended up replacing all spark plugs and 2 of the coils. The car runs, but it's not smooth, throttle modulation is difficult and it appears almost as if it's searching for the right gear to get in.
At this juncture I'm scratching my head and unsure what to do, would you suggest MAP sensor?
Any ideas would sincerely be appreciated, thank you for your time.
V/R
Chris
