Do you enjoy working on your Volvo?

I do, minus the aches and pains the next day, and dirty fingernails.

It's an escape for me. I liken it to working in my b&w photography darkroom as a teen/20s -- I can leave everyday life and concentrate on one thing, in peace.

I do love working but I'm not masochist enough to work on a gravel driveway outside. With a garage, I'm sure I'll always find things to do.

I like basic maintenance...oil changes, brakes and whatnot. I can do bigger ticket items just fine, but I hate dealing with things that I can't access or have to pay big money for a replacement part.

My car demands much more attention than I want to give it. It's like having a second, much clingier girlfriend.

Except in New England winter. My biggest problem is 6 registered cars, all different and me getting old and easily confused about which one is broken today :-) Time to dump everything and get 3 more 98 V/C/S 70's. Then I'll be able to keep track maybe.

I also very much enjoy it, but like Matt, I hate the pain it leaves on my body; more excruciating is the pain on my wrists which do discourage me to continue. I also hate that anything plastic snaps into tiny pieces! Today I thoroughly inspected the charcoal canister and all hoses attached! I'm glad they are all fine.

Working on the Volvo usually means that something is wrong, except for the needed maintenance. I wanted to check the yes/no column. A garage would make me like it a lot better. The tool I need is the one in the draw in the basement as I am laying under the car. in the driveway. As the economy shrunk, it caused me to realize how much I depended on others to do simple things. I will try to maintain my car as long as I can. It's almost become a game to see how many miles you can put on.
Today it turned 260.000 miles. Outside weather permitting I will do axles this weekend.

Yes and no. I hate having to work on it when things go wrong but I enjoy the feeling I get when I'm done. I do enjoy working on the "extras" that I added. I have put in a remote start, full in dash nav unit, angel eye headlights, mesh grille, hid lights, and I have a set of fog lights left to intall. This one is going to be fun since my car was not pre-wired for them.
