Hey i am new and have a list of questions and problems
1. What is all needed for a major tuneup on a 1995 Volvo 960
2. Where are the spark plugs located and do they have wire
3. Where is OBD connector and is it OBDI or OBDII
Problem
1. The car will run and drive but if i decide to stop a convenient store, and go in and come back out, i can not cut off the car. For some reason when i drive the car for awhile and then cut it off, it will not start back up, it makes the noise like it is about to crank up but it doesnt. And i have to wait like 45 minutes until it will start back up. What could this be if its not a tuneup problem?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
1. Before going into a major tune-up you need to trace the problem with the car.
2. They are under the black cover on top of the engine. There are no big plug leads as on earlier cars. The car has the coil-on-plug system where each p[lug has its own coil sitting on top of it. One of the problems with this system on the 960 is the wires running to the coils can, and do, lose the insulation due to the heat of the engine. This can cause the wires to earth (ground) causing misfire or no-start conditions.
3. It could be either OBD1 or OBD11 dependant on when it was produced. If it is an early '95 it will be OBD1 and you will find the diagnostic unit in the engine compartment in front of the left strut housing. If it is OBD11 the data link connector is located in the centre console to the right of the parking brake.
For the bad starting I would start by checking the wires to the coils. Then the wiring harness that runs between intake manifold runners #4 and #5. This is a common failure point as the insulation can rub through causing the wiring to earth. Lift the harness so it is clear of the engine and see if it will fire up.

Does this mean that the engine will continue to run after switching off the ignition?I can not cut off the car

I thought that but, as we are two nations divided by a common language, I decided to confirm it.
