Humming Noise
When I put my car (2002 S80 T6) in park and turn it off I hear this humming sound that sounds like hair clippers coming from engine can some tell me what that is?

Are you sure it isn't the radiator fan running? It will sometimes run of after the engine is shut down as normal operation but I have really only seen it happen in warm/hot weather if I recall.

My '06 S80 does the same thing. I've used a stethoscope and it seems to be loudest around the head. But the way sound travels who knows? After a couple of minutes it shuts off. Does it every time. I've never tried to listen for the sound when the engine is still cold. I've always noticed it after the motor is warmed up. Still getting used to the noises from this car (bought used in Jan this year). I would also like to know what this sound is if anyone knows.
