I just had a guy put a brand new head cylinder on my car now I am noticing at the part that sits on the engine is leaking a fairly small stream of coolant, I have only driven this car for 2 days. it is an external leak I am dealing with. Is this a fairly simple fix or am I going to have to drop another grand to get a new head gasket put on. I even took it up to a shop to get a certified mechanic to let me know if all looked good and he said it was fine. The car is a 1993 940 Turbo.
New head cylinder now leaking coolant around gasket

K strangest thing, I kept it cranked up for 1 hour. Drove it maybe 10 miles (the most I have driven since getting it fixed and let it sit idleing in the driveway for the rest of the time. Now the leak has appeared to stop. I do not know if this is from it burning off faster than it can fall out but I see no leak. Now it has sat for one hour and no sign of coolant but engine is still warm.

What was the reason to replace the cylinder head + gasket; has the engine been overheated?
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

Yes the engine overheated from a dry rotted hose blowing out and me trying to drive back home on it. I kept cranking it up today and letting it sit, repeated all day to try and see the leak again and it never came back! I did notice my antifreeze was a tad bit low but not much.

When these engines overheat, the block can warp as a consequence; I hope you had it milled before putting the head on.

It was all milled, New valves, new everything. I repeatedly tried to crank it up today to see the leak again and it never did! I dunno what to do? Maybe try a fix treatment? It was the first time I noticed so I got a snapshot. Should I drive it around to spot the leak again or is that just going to make things worse?

I understand you did have the head milled; can you also verify that they milled the mating surface of the block as well?
If that was done correctly, then I would suspect improper gasket application or a torquing issue.

Ok I have made a mistake. I got up this morning and cranked it up to find the leak coming from 2 spots. One appears to be part of the air intake manifold but only on the farthest left section and the other the black hose, part of the coolant system? It is both the metal joints that bolt to the head in the picture. Is this still a major problem or do I simply need to re seal those joints?
