my '01 V70 and '96 850 project cars

Post by thetazjagman »

I am new to this site and wanted to introduce myself. I am currently working on 2 cars, listed above, and have included some pics. The '01 V70 started out as a plain base model non-turbo tan family wagon which was transformed into a mid-performance car with a bite! It has been modified with 268 HP from including a performance chip, custom stainless steel exhaust with a 2nd 24" magnaflow added, #30 tinted windows, cross-drilled/slotted brake rotors w/ ceramic pads(definitely a different feel when applying the brakes), new "Black Pearl" paint w/ 4 coats clear, headlights w/ LED and blue LED's behind front grille area at "SICKSPEED" blaster horns, all new blue silicone hoses & wiring under the hood, new premium custom stereo w/ cd & infinity and JBL speakers along with a 24" tube woofer for a little extra kick !

The '96 850 base model non turbo transformed from our daughter's 1st car to a "tricked out" car for her to enjoy for many years. The paint is the "THISTLE PURPLE" which was used on the '97 Ford mustang with 4 coats clear and a tad more fine metallic flake was added into it, all new silicone hoses, wiring, belts, etc., some engine parts were custom painted purple & blue under the hood, performance chip was added which boosted this base model to 249 HP, cross-drilled/slotted barke rotors, tinted windows & rear tail-lights, purple LED glow lights under carriage and interior purple lighting, custom 16" wheels with Sumitomo tires, premium stereo with 36" tube woofer along with a system that handles 300w with a breeze...the headlights were a cool addition(hard to find but found a great site for volvos) along with the LED strip lighting adds a nice touch....enjoy the pics....

There is so much info on this site...THANK YOU Matthews for providing such helpful & useful info/connections for us volvo owners !

Tazjag, thanks for posting. Nice "resto-mods", if the term applies. I especially like the V70. Very nice.

Hey thanx much ! Wasn't sure if I could list the companies that I purchased the supplies from. I have many many sites that I have found that are easy to deal with for the headlights, high heat engine paint, interior & dashboard bulbs, & others. I see IPD listed on your site...they are simply AWESOME !

List whatever you want, no restrictions. If it helps Volvo owners, it belongs here.

I got them on TIRERACK.com. They have a HUGE selection for volvos, I bumped the V70 to 17"wheels & the 850 to 16"...they're prices are great & they'll even mount & balance the tires on the wheels if you purchase both at the same time. I checked & compared prices, and I must say, they have it hands down! They are very knowledgable as well. I actually mistakenly entered the wrong size tire for the wheels & they called me to review...now that's SERVICE !
