angle gear drain fill plug location

Post by huzzsaba »

So far i have replaced the oil and coolant on my 2004 xc90 2.5t since acquiring it and am now moving on to replacing the angle gear fluid and rear diff fluid.

i also want to confirm that aside from the angle gear fluid, there is also fluid for the haldex unit and a separate fluid for the rear differential

I think i know where the drain plug is for the angle gear but just making sure. I have marked it is this photo below that i found on the web of a S60R I believe. I also need to know from those who have replaced the fluid that what type of hose should i use and how deep into the hole i should i put it so as not to get the hose caught into the gears. I have read where some have thread the hose too deep which caused the hose to get caught and break inside.

Thanks
