V70 Valve grinding question

Post by jgerhard45 »

Does anyone know the specs on the height of the valve stem tip to the top of the valve guide to keep them in the range of the hydraulic lifters after grinding?

Volvo uses a tool that is a pipe that lays in cam journals with a hole that a vernier caliper or depth mic anvil can pass through. The pipe is the diameter of the journals. the depth from the top of the pipe down to valve tip is 48.5 +/- 0.4 mm.

Is that for both the intake and exhaust?

Thanks for the info, it helped a lot. Do you happen to know the intake/exhaust seat widths after grinding and lapping?
