How to install Door Trim on the outside of a 850?

I have an 850 and the outside trim on the driver side is missing. I picked up new clips and the trim piece is still in usable shape. What's the trick to get this trim re-installed?

1) Force the clips into the trim piece and then go slide that into the slots on the door?

or

2) Put the clips in the door and then try to pop the trim onto the clips?

The clips are a hard plastic and it seems like I might need a special tool to re-attach this trim.

I just figured this one out. Put the clips in the trim on the workbench by using a screw driver and hammer (place clips and then tap on the little tab in the center of the clip).

Then put it on the car. Thanks All.
