We've thought of dropping an old Chevy 350 into the shell of our old rusted out 2002 and entering it into one of those races.
Can a Civic really go fast enough to need that kind of downforce? My friend had a Civic like that in high school; the thing wouldn't go over 90 mph flat out.

I got my 1997 Accord up to 118mph - fuel cutoff. Four cyl manual. Great car. Sold it in 2000 to get my 850.
But yes, later in the C&D article they say the car didn't achieve a speed that would cause the mods to be effective.

My 1988 would hit 100, foot flat on the floor. Like any Honda, it was remarkably great around corners though - I once kept up with a motorcade of BMW's on a fast, twisty road
