V70 Ramps Recommendation

Post by rmmagow »

Can somebody Brand-Name recommend to me some decent ramps to use with my 98V70 normal suspension. My old red metal ramps would be hit by the front overhang. Are the plastic type ramps sold at AutoZone ok for using with this car?
I like to use ramps for oil and transmission fluid work as they have less of a tendency to sink into the hot asphalt that is my driveway. Been using a jack and stands on a metal plate for a while now. Getting sort of old and tedious for my frequent trips down-under.

I have Rhino ramps (black plastic ones) I bought at Autozone and love them - they have been used at least once every 2 months for the past 5 Years. They're the smaller ones built to handle 4000 lbs.

Got my truck up on the woodies and it going to be there for a while. The Rhino's work great and fit in the back of the wagon for on-the-fly oil changes :-)

My wood ramps have been around for some 20 years.
If you want to live then use Wood Ramps.

Re: Rhino Ramps, just Google "Rhino Ramp collapse" for some fun readings.
I do not want you guys to be killed/injured.
Do you trust some 3000-4000 lbs sitting on some hollowed out plastic ramps?
Not me.

So again google it.

I use Rihno's as well. I have seen them buckle once. They are safe if you make sure they are flat and the car is parked on them right. nice and light. The only thing I don't like about them is that spiders try to hide/nest in them.
