XC90 power inverter how to..

So you want/need a power inverter in your XC90. You were wondering what a good spot would be. It had to be a easy thing to do right?

Well here it is.

Parts 150watt inverter just to power a PS3 in the car with AV inputs on the front panel

Mine is in the passenger side compartment access panel.

This is what it looks like removed out of the car

I took the panel and turned it over and cut a recangle hole out of the insulation material like this

Image

then i cut the four tabs off of the vent to get this in my hands

Image

Placed the AV connector/power plug plate onto the hole like this

Image

sized up the hole and cut the vent down like this

Image

then placed the larger of the two vents back into the hole like this

Made the connections at the battery in the back, routed the wires, and ran them to the switch panel. boring stuff that i did not take pictures of. I DID take pictures of the finished job though... :D

Very nice clean install. Are you an A/V guy by trade or just a hobby?
