Hi all,
My '96 850 spent time in FLA and there's a seal in the main gauge cluster that is dried out and the plastic is rubbing. The two components rubbing are the clear plastic covering the main gauges and the upper right dash holding the clear material. I am thinking about putting a drop of RTV Silicon in that area and wonder if there's a cleaner fix for this creaking?
Thanks, PR

My 850 goes from -40 in the winter to 105 F in the summer, i thouht dash music was a factory installed option <grin>
I found inconspicuous wedging of cardboard best because the sqeeks will mire around forca bit.

I'm thinking about putting rubber, cork, or felt disks where the interior panels connect. I've also developed a dash creak in addition to the standard rear hatch rattle.

If the car is an 850, and you want to do it right, pull the whole dash out, replace all the bulbs, change the odometet gear while your in there and look for any rubber and / or foam that has decayed. A few well placed strips of old bicycle inner tube or similar will tighten things up. I would avoid any "product" like silicone that might glue some parts together... The main object is to maje sure the hard plastic of the cluster unit is not rubbing or being squeezed.
