1999 V70 XC in the yard
1999 V70 XC in the yard
My local junkyard just got in a '99 V70 XC. It looks to be almost complete with some minor front end damage, pics attached. Won't stay like this for long. Let me know what you need and we can work something out. PM or call. Thanks, Jason 502-533-5088

It looks like a pick and pull type lot but I wonder if the engine is good? If it is good can the yard pull it and ship it via motor freight to 66205? I assume it is a VIN 56 engine.

Yes it's called pull-a-part and you pull your own parts. Location is here in Louisville. Last time I saw it the engine appeared to be fine. I've seen what appear to be engine hoists on wheels in the yard but I probably don't have the tools to disconnect and remove it, although I'm sure the instructions are on this site. No answer from the junkyard on the phone, just an automated system with inventory and pricing, I will have to go back and ask them about it. I will find out and let you know.
I went back today, the engine is gone along with just about everything else under the hood. Sorry about that. I also spoke to the manager at the yard, you have to pull the engine yourself and then remove it with the supplied hoist, then they come out with a forklift and drive it to and load it into your vehicle and then you can take it to a motor freight terminal for shipping. I guess that's good to know for the future. Unfortunately Ive never pulled an engine and I guess I'll need to know how if I ever decide to swap out the tranny in my '93 (no reverse other gears fine).
A +1 for lovl850. I have dealt with him on 2 different transactions thus far. Awesome communication, fast shipment and well packaged. With insurance and tracking. Aces in my book and I wanted the forum to know my experiences.
