Collision insurance?

Post by hanzbe420 »

should i get this insurance? on my 94 volvo 850 turbo if i only bought it for like 1100 and when i went to register it the nada book value was 1250, even no on kbb its like 3,000 lol. anyways i got comprehensive 500,000 liability, and they wont let me go past 100,000 property cause they said i don't have enough tenure lol. but should i get collision on such and older car. like if i crash its gonna cost more then the car is worth. but for minor accidents it might be useful i dunno what do you guys think cause without collision my insurace in like 68 and it goes to like 100 with collision. and whats with this tenure thing. now i have noticed they wont let me go to 500,000 liability highest i go is 300.000/500.000 per person / per accident. Tenure i never heard of it lol.

I would just stay with liability only.

My 88 Accord was worth about the same - anything other than a minor scrape or hit will total your car anyway and they'll just total the car and give you what it's worth. $1500 probably isn't going to buy you a new (good) car, so I wouldn't bother.

Agreed. I am surprised at how little your premium increases with collision. If I carried collision my premium went more than double. The ins co would total the car for a busted grill. Probably make you do 500 deductible too.

hahah yea its gieco. and i got 50$ deduct. its weird cause i was on geico before and there prices were 115 with state minimum and i pay like either 68 or 78 if they approve my increase in liability. but yea i thought my previous nationwide was the cheapest but i guess geico wants me back. lol i dunno how that works but yea i don't think i will get collision. now what happens if i crash into a pole or hit some1 and its my fault how will i get payed for my bbv if it was my fault and i didn't have collision that's what I am wondering like if i get into accident and i don't have collision why would they pay me if i don't have collision for my damages? lol. like I am just asking if i don't have collision and i hit some1 and its my fault and my car got totaled do i get reimbursed or what?

You would not be reimbursed for anything with liability only. They'll only pay for damages to other people's property that you cause.

But then again, if you get into a serious wreck even if you have collision coverage, the most that they're going to give you back is what the value of your car is deemed to be. (somewhere probably around $1500)

yea thats what i thought i just dont wanna be left flat with nothing in a case like this but i dont wanna shell out the extra for collision on an old car anyways so i guess ill just drive careful lol. i never got into an accident yet (knock on wood), well i did side swipe a parked car be4. but thats the closest i came to an at fault accident lol.

Defensive driving!

The problem isn't you; it's just looking out for the other 23478264287 morons on the road. I nearly T-boned someone last night that completely blew through a red light.

I see that the "Use proper English" rule is being disregarded.

When I see a post written in 'text speak' I don't even try to read it.

yea there's some crazy drivers here in CT. I see accidents and dumb driving all the time! I am pretty confident in myself, but your right about the others on the road. you never no what there doing, what there on, what there experience level is.
