My problem started last week after I hit a curb which popped my rear right tire.
I've looked over forums on the internet and in my haynes repair manual.
I though it could be be an electrical problem because I can hear the fuel pump buzzing. Or the fuel relay might be bad so I did jump 87 and 15. Which did not bring me any luck.
What else could cause my car to not start?

Not familiar with 850's but can you elaborate further? Did it quit at that moment and never started or did it progressively get worse? Does it crank but not start or does it crank at all? Have you checked for spark? Is there a Schrader Valve on the Fuel Rail to check for fuel pressure or existence of pressure etc...

Not starting Try changing the cam position sensor or crank sensor. Easter Saturday [which is a bank holiday here in the UK so no where open] my T5 decided to start playing up then decided nope it wouldn't go any further. Crank position sensors are expensive unless you're happy to get a used one. You could also do with getting the codes read off to make sure it's not something else

Ah, I forgot to say that the car did crank. But no spark at all, and I seem to not have spark at all.

Would a no spark scenario be caused by a bad ignition coil?

Yes, but according to this link the Cam Sensor could be telling the ECU not to fire the Coil? I am not familiar with ignition but I am wondering if the tire incident had anything to do with it and the problem lies in that area and is fuel related. Hopefully someone else can provide some input on systematically checking for a no start. The previous link seemed to provide some good info.Va850owner wrote:Would a no spark scenario be caused by a bad ignition coil?

No start is either no fuel or no spark - sounds stupid to say it but true. I have a 96, so should be similar. Have you confirmed that there is gas up at the fuel rail? Look for a vavle like a tire valve and pole the pin, there should be gas. If not, i'd suspect the pump, seeing as you said this happened after a rear end incident, and the pump is in the tank. If there is no fuel, have someone turn the key while you give the gas tank a few good thumps with a rubber mallet. It may take two or three shots to get the gas up to the engine. If it starts, its the pump.
If you DO have fuel at the rail, how have you determined that there is no spark? The best way is to pull out a sparkplug, reconnect the wire, hold the base of the plug against a metal part of the engine and have someone crank it over. This will test the coil, coil wire, cap, rotor and plug wire.
Appologies if you already know all this, but sometimes best to start with the basics so we're all on the same page

I shall try out your suggestions later tomorrow.
Thanks
And I'll report back on how it all worked out.

Well, I tried out both of your methods steve850, and I do have spark but the fuel rail is dry.
Is it the fuel pump?
Is it the fuel pump?
