I'm installing the Schnaab one today. I picked it over IPD because you can get the silicone in black, other than that they're probably the same. It's not in yet but I have it assembled and the old one out. Looks like it will fit fine. Plus it has a good spot for the PTC valve.
Want to spray down the engine with degreaser before I install it tomorrow, I will post a pic.

I have the Snabb intake. It's nice but I really don't think it does much other than make more noise than the stock pipe.
It might make a difference if you've really turned up the boost.

My DIY Volvo 850 cold air intake
There's a couple topics... more food for thought than a direct answer. I can't find the topic about CAI I'm thinking of (who runs this place?
) that has a few good responses about the concept and execution of different CAI. Rob, you were in it and mentioned you went back to stock(?). Maybe 6 months ago.

Haven't been out to the car yet today but I took the old turbo intake to work with me last night to switch over the PTC to the Snabb.
Couple of notes, first the Snabb's diameter is huge relative to stock. Second, I use a Dremel at least weekly without incident and nearly cut my finger twice last night trimming the PTC. It's small and round so the cutting wheel jumps off randomly, it really should be done in a vice. Best method ended up being sanding down the lip with the large, round, "blunt" surface of the wheel.
I cut off the lip that is all the way to the side of the PTC that sits in your intake pipe. Afterwards the PTC slides right in the slot on the new pipe, pretty snug, and looks like a clamp will make it air tight. I'll correct that if it turns out not to be true.
As far as evaluating the effectiveness, I imagine it's just a question of where the weakest link is. With stock exhaust how big of a difference could it really make? With a full three inch exhaust, I'd be interested to see a dyno with and without a Snaab/IPD intake vs. stock.
I'll do the exhaust at some point and was also attracted to the durability of the product.
The color choice of black was just because I'll have enough blue in my engine already thanks to IPD.

Added the intake pipe but am in the middle of a couple other jobs that require some parts so it will be midweek until it sees action. PTC seems airtight with the clamp. Worst part by far was getting the small vac line from the PVC system to stay onto the PTC. Had to take a clamp down to it's last thread to get it to stay.
Thing was a pain to install overall. Did most of an intercooler switch today and it was way less frustrating. I expected it to be the other way around. If the pipe is leaking make sure you got it all the way onto the turbo, especially on the underside. I ended up crouching on top of the engine and fighting for a good 1/2 hour with the thing to get it all the way on there.
