Can't remove A/C air temp sensor [850]

Post by butchwill »

'94 855 Turbo 109K just purchased

I just picked up a 94 855T with only 109K miles and am getting ready for a road trip to TX,FL, MO then back home to IL. I have A/C lights blinking so I pulled all codes in B1 then cleared them and one doesn't go away. 126, passenger temp sensor, has been vacuumed but still throws 126. I'd swap it out with a working sensor from my 854T, one of the reasons I bought the same year and model, but I can't figure out how to remove it. I've removed the handle and the plastic trim but I can't see how the sensor comes out. I tried pulling on it with needle nose pliers and broke off a small piece. Any hints? I would rather not remove the headliner if that's a possibility. I'm willing to buy a new sensor from FCP for $40 if I can get the old one out. BTW, the A/C works OK but the blinking lights are a PITA.
