Windscreen washer pump.

Post by Free2drive! »

Hello all

My 1994 washer pump has died, at least it is very noisy and barely gives a trickle.

I notice it is attached to the side of the reservoir, do you know how it is attached?

Also is it the same for wagons as sedans?

Thanks
Matt

The washer pump pops into a recess and there is a grommet where end of pump inserts into tank.
Wagon and sedan share reservoirs but sedan does not have the hole punched and grommet inserted for second pump.
Before you commit to a pump try taking hose off the pump and seeing if it pumps heartily then. If the pump output is obstructed it will be noisy.

Had a similar problem. For me it turned out that it was the check valve in the hose that splits the flow to the two jets. Don't know if this helps you.
