240 auxillary fan

240 auxillary fan

On my 1992 240, should the electric fan in front of the radiator turn on whenever the A/C is turned on, or is it strictly a function of coolant temperature? Thanks in advance

It is a function of air conditioner high side pressure. If the temp is high and the engine fan is not enough then the high side pressure will increase and the fan will run until the pressure drops back to a lower pressure.
