HELP!!! Stinky, mildewy odor in car!!!

My car is only 8 months old, and it stinks--literally!!!! Before turning on AC or when running the fan, a strange odor wafts from the vents. It smells like mildew, but I leave NO moisture in the car (no wet towels, spilt beverages, etc). What's going on? It's making me physically sick, and I don't want to have friends in my car it's so smelly. Did I buy a lemon?

sometimes a fungal spore lives in air con systems creating this problem. You can get a spray to kill this.

I would check your "in-cab" filter.
They are suppose to be replaced every 15000 miles.
This can easily grow mildew and push it into the car.
I replaced mine after a smell was growing and it smelled like a new car.
Replacement is a little tough but it's under the glove box close to the center console.
There are instructions in the box of the new filter.
