Does anyone know if the headliner can be dropped and rotated for removal from the 740 for repair and re-installation? Will it fit through the door opening?
Tried to re-glue existing headliner fabric in place with little success...
Thanks

I once removed the entire innards of my 740, except the headliner. I mean setas, carpet, door panels - everything.
I remember the basic geometry and can kind of visualize it. I have read such techniques are possible on other Volvos (e.g. 850).
I do think its possible. The fiberboard backing can bend slightly also and it certainly isn't glued in at the factory, so it must be kind of bent slightly and wriggled in or out. If it was me, I would remove the passenger seat, flop the drivers seat all the way down (leaning back) and try to wrestle it out the passenger door.

Thanks.
I kind of figured it wasn't one of the first things in at the factory...
Taking the whole thing out, sanding it down, gluing new fabric, then re-installing seems like it's the only way to get this done right...
