97 850 GLT no power to fuel pump

Post by andrew135 »

Need Help, I replaced my failed fuel pump, went to start the car when turning the ignition to position II I did not hear the pump start. So then I assumed it was the fuel relay so I replaced it with a new one and still no power to the pump. The 15 amp fuel pump fuse is not blown. What else could be wrong, Thanks Andrew

Have you checked fuel pressure at the rail? Did you check for power with a volt meter at the pump? Sometimes I don't hear the pump until I release the key after I try to start it.

Hi, I checked the plug back at the pump and no voltage, I also jumper terminals 15 and 87 at the fuel relay and still nothing.I hooked the new fuel pump directly up to a battery and it works fine, the car will run fine untill the fuel pressure drops.
