240 quiet fuel pump..

My car won't start and after who know how many new parts under the hood from the local mechanic. I decided to work on it myself. One thing I noticed is that the fuel pump is not making any noise. I thought it was supposed to make some noise when you turn the key on. Also, the relay under the passenger dash sounds really mad. Sometimes it will buzz for a few seconds. But the car still does not start. I looked at the pump and filter, and both appear to be original. The car has 114,000 on it. Any help would be apprecitated.

I would go ahead and replace the relay. Sounds like it's not functioning. You can also check your fuel pressure while the engine is turning, it should either stay steady or jump a little.

Ok, now it has two new fuel pumps, a new fuel filter, and it still stalls. I don't know what else to check. Maybe it's time to sell it. Too frustrating.
