Okay So I need to change out my transmission fluid and filter in my 214k + Volvo. I have some what of an idea of what I am doing;although, I have no idea how to change my filter. Well I need a walkthrough the process. If you have any pointers please don't hold back!
Thanks!

You will need the filter and a tube of transmission formulation RTV (silicone) sealer. They do make a transmission formula and it should say so.
Undo the drain bolt in the pan and allow to drain. Use a pan capable of 6 quarts.
Undo the full row of bolts around the perimeter of the pan, it will not fall off as the sealer has it glued on. Use a putty knife and small hammer and go around at several accessible places and tap knife into the seam between pan and trans case. Now use a screwdriver and tap it into the seam (don't drive either tool much more than an inch into the seam) in at least a couple of the other places where putty knife didn't go. The pan may begin to separate when you go into the first place with screwdriver but surely when you do the second. The pan will peel away slowly as the sealer breaks.
The filter will be there as well as a lot of dripping fluid. Tie paper towels on forearm just above elbow so the fluid does go all the way to your armpits.
Clean the pan with scraper and a wire brush and scrape the sealing face of trans with a scraper. The sealant clean up is by far the toughest part of this job. Use brake cleaner spray on the pan to get all oil off the sealing face. Apply sealer in a bead 1/4 inch diameter inline with bolt holes and then go back and do a thinner amount in C shapes inboard of each bolt hole. Now use brake cleaner on a paper towel and wipe the trans face and then dab off as much fluid as possible. Now install pan. The sealant apply and fitting pan needs to not take more than 10 minutes, less time the better. You don't want the sealer to surface dry too much before it goes to trans face. The bolts are not tightened too tight. 1/4" ratchet is plenty enough tool to use.
I should mention that if the pan gets bent on the sealing face it should be flattened down again. Does not have to be perfect but needs to be less than 1/16" deformed to seal.
The dipstick is a 1/2 square drive receiver and is twisted 1/8 turn to remove. The head is squared and there is lock tab thing and when you turn it 1/8 turn the tab is clear of the dipstick. The 1/2 inch extension needs to be almost 2 feet long and you will need a LONG funnel. Add 3 quarts and then add in increments until it is full. You will see the dipstick has scales on both sides. Use the lower side which is warm fluid. The high scale is hot side and you'd have to drive 10 or more minutes for that scale to be used.

i would like to add. I recommend to flush the transmission too. this means getting all the old oil from all canals and converter too. this saves alot of transmissions.
the way to do it is drain the oil pan like jimmy says. change the filter
put 2 Liters of oil into the tranny. wia the dipstick tube.
Remove the Lower Cooler pipe on the radiator. can be stuck sized tight so you can remove it at the transmission so you have to do it on jack stands.
atach a hose on the pipe and into a bucket.
be two persons one starts the car in P and let it idle and black fluid should come out when it starts to sputter the fluid out insted of a stedy streem. turn the car off. Put another 2 liters of tranny oil into the tranny. do the same again until the fluid that comes out of the cooler pipe is bright red like this you pour into it. once its comes out red. put another 2 liters of fluid into it. test drive so it get hot like 5 miles or so. let it idle and hold the brake. go through all gears for 4 secounds and back into P wait 2 minuts and check the fluid level. should need about 1 liter more
