Wind noise Topic is solved

I'm getting loud wind noise from in front of the windshield at speeds above 45 - 50 mph. Anyone else having this problem? Wanted to check before I took my 2005 back to the dealer.

Wind noise is created by the disrupted airflow coming across the front end of the vehicle. This could be attributed to many factors. I'll name them:

Windshield seal
Hood seal
Hood adjustment ( My XC90 front right rubber mount was not correctly
adjusted when I bought it new... just turn to the proper
height) Also, be sure that your hood is properly secured,
you could be mistaken air buffeting for a unstabled hood.

Angle of attack (ie., does the front ride lower or higher significantly than the
rear) Did you do any mods? Is your vehicle equipped with
height adjustment ie. airbags)

Wind Vortices (do you have a hood deflector or bug deflector installed on
the hood?) If so, take it off and see if you still have the
same problem.

All car manufacturers with perform wind tunnel or computer generated models to create the lowest drag coefficient. A smooth aero dynamic flow of air across the boundary layer of the vehicle is what all OEM's do. If you disrupt the aeroflow you get buffeting.

Make sure if the buffeting occurs in optimum conditions with NO tail wind or cross wind or even strong winds...However I would check those items above in that order.
