Ignition pin configuration needed

Post by RossT »

In need the pin configuration for the plastic "dough-nut" connector on the bottom of the ignition switch. Tha car is a 1992 940. Can anyone help, please. My manual has vanished and have the wiring in pieces.

Don't ask....a buddy of mine thought he was being helpful, but.....
I need to confirm the pin configuration because and interesting fault developed:
with the ignition off, the front wash/wipers, radio and cigarette lighter are live. Turn the ignition on and the wipers, radio and cigarette lighter go dead.
I can live without the radio and cigarette lighter if I have to, but the wipers are very useful.

the marks on the plastic connector are:
P, X, 50, S, R, 30, 15 & 30.

There are 7 wires that go into the block: Red/Blue, (fat) Red, Yellow/Blue, (fat) Red, Yellow/Blue, Black & Pink.

Well, after many attempts, I finally figured it out.

Should anyone else ever need this, the pin configurations are:
Pink wire = Hole 50
Black wire = Hole X
Blue/Red = Hole 15
Red wire = Hole 30 - two holes makred with this number
Yellow/blue wires = Holes 151
Red wire = Hole 30 - two holes marked with this number

Holes P, S, & R are redundant.

Everything is back working as it should....at last.
