A/C and heater going at the same time Topic is solved

I have a 1995 850 and I can turn the A/C on and it does't work then going down the road the A/C starts blowing out of drivers side vents and the heat is blowing out of the passenger side vents. Then they will both quit with the swiches still showing on and fan on high. Please help me before this Volvo wins the War.

I am having very similar problems with my 1996 850 glt. When I first start the car the heat or a/c will work fine but after a couple of minutes they will turn off. Funny thing is that when I turn the car off and back on the heater or a/c will come back on for a few more minutes and then turn off again. This is very frusterating especially in the winter months. I hardly ever use the a/c but the heat is a neccesity. It does not seem to make a difference whether the switch is set to auto or the manual settings. It also doesn't make any difference as far as the temp settings etc. Thanks for any help you guys could offer as I am about ready to give up.
