Hello,
My window is sticking, and it's not the weather stripping, so I think I need to open up the panel and grease the tracks internally.
My question is: what sort of grease/lube would I use? I have no idea what would be in there, and don't want to open the door up to find out.
Thanks,
-Colin
What grease for window sliders?
look at the temp spec of the grease...choose a silicone that stays thin-ish at low temps. Most other greases are just too treacly at low temps. I use a silicone grease on the rubber door seals in the winter to make sure the doors will actually open.

I've always used spray silicone on weather stripping and white aero lube on rotating the parts.

Alright thanks! I didn't realize how easy it is to get door panel off, did this today. I ended up with 'ultra slick synthetic grease' which seemed about the right consistency, and rated down to -40C... local store didn't have any silicon grease.
Seems much better, although I found another posting at http://volvospeed.com/volvo_repairs_how_tos/doors_latches/v70_s60_s80_window-slider-replacement.html which suggested I could replace the plastic sliders themselves. Will probably do that as it's still not 100% smooth.
