Check engine light not resetting
Check engine light not resetting
I had a bad ABS unit. I replaced it and all warning lights went off except the check engine light. I disconnected the neg. battery cable for 30 minutes, then reconnected. I started my car and the check engine light comes on immediately without driving the car. Shouldnt it stay of till I drive it? Could it be a bad circuit. Its a 1999 S80.

It's either a 1633 or 1618. It wont go away without clearing it with a scanner. Thats also assuming that it isnt on for another reason.

It can be reset but passing emissions will only be possible if the 'drive cycle incomplete' flags are no longer present. You can get the generic codes read at autozone for free to make sure there are no more issues that would turn the MIL on.
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.
