S70 purchase and tunning

Post by 89V740TI »

Hello,

I am currently the owner of a 89 740 Turbo and within the next year I am considering buying an S70 AWD. I beleive you can buy the S70 in an AWD turbo, does anyone know if this is true or not? It would also have to come in a stick, I dont want an automatic. If I can not get the S70 in the trim packages I want then I will look for an S60, those I know you can get in AWD Turbo and 5/6 spd. Regarding both of these cars I would like to know how the aftermarket world is for them. I am looking for a car I can put a lot into, and I dont like FWD so the eliminates the 850 unfortuantly. I know there are gunna be chips, and you can always get an exhaust. But what about things like cams, turbo upgrades, true performance suspension, things like that. Even body kits, wheels and things like that. So if there is anyone out there that owns either of these cars and has put work into them please let me know. Or if someone owns one and is having difficulties finding parts and ungrades for them that would be good too. THen I could look into other options.

Thank you
- Jay K

True. However don't know if it's the high or low pressure turbo.

I know Volvo re-introduced the stick to the 70 family (1999 +) in North America after a long period of all-automatics (850). I don't know if a stick is available in the trim you want. Have you tried browsing Craigslist?

If you are looking to get an AWD car, I would stay away from the S70. It was an early form of the AWD system. It is also very very expensive to fix.
