I am changing the audio system (lost the codes for factory unit and codes supplied don't match-maybe a changed unit before I owned it) and have a problem with the wiring. I've seen some posts in the forum, but they don't help me.
On the rear is a 14 pin flat plug and a 6 pin DIN (marked amp). I.ve seen 1 lot of colour wire explanations to the 14 slot plug in a link on the database here, but it isnt the same as mine. Are the Australian models different?
What I need is where these wires connect.
Should the Din wiring get hardwired into the new radio wiring?
I've searched for speaker wires and tested all the ones in the 14 slotter, but it appears none are there. But it's evident that the din has them due to speaker noise when checking circuits.
The 14 er has power sources and grounds. And plural! This plug doesn't make sense to me. Must be all sorts of things into it. 1 test on wire from it made the parking lights go on.
Can anyone help?

Thanks for that diagram.
What is the rheostat?
I couldn't find that the speaker connections were correct to that plan.
I found that the amp is linked into the wiring system and after I found what went where, I got the individual speakers working.
I have not connected the pink or white wires to the new head unit. I don't know where or what they are for.
Only problem now is the buzzing noise I have, which becomes worse when the lights are turned on.

Thanks for the wiring diagram(http://au.geocities.com/ozbrick850/Radi ... ctors.html ), it helped me install a Pioneer Cd player. I have a 93 850 GLT, the 1995 wiring diagram for the 14 pin "plug A" is reverse to my 1993.
For those that don't know what the "Rheostat" is it is connected to the light dimmer switch.

I know I saw this on here before, but does anyone know where the thread is that has a breakdown of stock SC- radios by watts etc?
I think it was a jpeg, and I thought I bookmarked it but can't seem to find it.
Thanks

You're kidding, right?
Dude...USE AN ADAPTER HARNESS.

10 bucks, no chopping up the wiring in a multi-thousand dollar car!
The wire colors MATCH your aftermarket stereo's!
Honestly...C'mon...
